Readmagine 2018 included the 5th International Digital Distributors Meeting, organized by IPDA and FANDE. During the meeting there was a dialogue on self-publishing which aimed provide with some insights about this issue to the audience -composed by professionals of the book industry- and visualize the business opportunities that could emerge from the self-publishing.
The participants were moderated by Arantza Larrauri (Libranda) and were the three of them experts on hypermedia strategies: Jesús Vega (Vivlium), Roger Domingo (Deusto) and Tuomas Sorjamaa (Kaiken).
Larrauri presented the purpose of the dialogue as an opportunity to understand the means for the book sector to take advantage of the assets that the publishing sector has and expand its position.
Roger Domingo is the director manager of the publishing houses Deusto, Gestión 2000, Alienta and Para Dummies, (all of them part of Grupo Planeta) and the company PlanetaHipermedia.com, focused on elearning.
Tuomas Sorjamaa is Licensing & Acquisitions Manager at Kaiken Entertainment, an entertainment company specializing in storytelling through TV, film, digital products, licensing and publishing. Kaiken discovers, develops and creates original IPs with potential to build multimedia franchises around them.
At Kaiken, Tuomas handles licensing and rights sales and new IP acquisitions and development. Previously he has worked as writer, editor, and children’s publisher. Tuomas holds master’s degrees in both intellectual property law and English language and literature.
Jesus Vega is an enterpreneur, writer and speaker. He worked as HR Director at Inditex, Banco Santander y Hewlett Packard. He is autor of “La Empresa Sensual” and now is linked to undertakings in the AI and Big Data fields and is advisor at Vivlium.
Arantza Larrauri is graduated and MBA at ESADE. Me licencié en Administración de empresas en ESADE, donde también obtuve el MBA. She is in the book industry durning the last 14 years, starting at Penguin Random House and Círculo de Lectoras and since 2010 as the Managing Director at Libranda.
