The Digital Publishing Summit is an event organized by EDRLab since 2016 and in this year of the Covid-19 merged with Readmagine in a first on-line edition.
Laurent Le meur is the Director of EDRLab and played a keyrole in the decision and organization of this combine edition of the both events on innovation and digitalization of publishing in an international scale. Le Meur introduced in this session Bryan O’Leary on his presentation of a new whitepaper produced by BISG.
In 2019, the Book Industry Study Group launched its workflow committee to help companies across the supply chain think about ways to better organize processes, technologies, and people. In fall 2019, the committee published a white paper that outlined opportunities, challenges, and best practices related to improving publishing workflows. O’Leary participated for a consecutive year in Readmagine, in this occasion in an on-line presentation because the pandemic conditions in the world during the last days of May a first weeks of June, when all the sessions of the event were taking place.
Brian O’Leary is executive director of the Book Industry Study Group, a U.S. trade association that disseminates information, creates and implements standards, and conducts research to benefit the book publishing supply chain. Before being named to this role in 2016, O’Leary was principal of Magellan Media Consulting, which helped publishers improve how they create, manage and distribute content. In that role, O’Leary wrote extensively about issues affecting the publishing industry. With Hugh McGuire, he co-edited Book: A Futurist’s Manifesto (O’Reilly Media, 2012). Before that, O’Leary served as senior VP with Hammond Inc. and oversaw production and distribution operations at several Time Inc. magazines. O’Leary earned an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School and holds an A.B. in chemistry from Harvard College.
