In the context of the “Learning within the boundaries” conference, which took place during the Readmagine week of 2019, Colin Lovrinovic presented a workshop on the prospects for AI within the Book Value Chain.
Lovrinivic thinks that AI is going to change many industries and Publishing is one of them and if you want to grow your business it makes sense to get informed of the uses of this technology. AI is not going to impact or disruption on the core business in terms of substitution -i.e. are machines going to write the books? – because is still very limited in what it can do and you have to give it a clear focus, but he foresees benefits in all the surrounding area, for instance, to optimize marketing, distribution or sales to automate pricing.
He is Managing Director at Gould Finch, the next generation data-driven management consulting firm that focuses on digital evolution and transformation across various industries. They work in holistic teams made up from industry experts, consultants, scientists and young talents – backed by innovative AI solutions.
Gould Finch has worked with a number of clients from the international publishing industry on projects including strategy, innovation and implementation of new technology.
Prior to Gould Finch, Colin worked for companies such as Amazon, Apple, Universal and Bastei Lübbe – one of Germany’s largest trade publishers. And successfully (and unsuccessfully) started companies in the digital media space.
He holds an MBA from Mannheim Business School, as well as an M.A. in Creative Industries Management and is an active member of the German Federal Association of Artificial Intelligence.
