During the last Readmagine conference there was a dialogue between Gregorio Pellegrino, Sebastian Posth and Denis Zwirm around formats and new digital solutions for book market. This dialogue was moderated by José Manuel Anta, Managing Director of Fande, partner of Fundación Germán Sánchez Ruipérez in Readmagine and also in the Renodo platform. The conversation drew the participants of this panel to explore the evolution of formats for the digital books from to pdf and epub and further on, convergence of epub and html, accessibility, the role of distribution in an ecosystem of htm prevalence, blockchain, rights management or issues such as inter-operatibility.
Denis Zwirn in the founder and CEO of Numilog, which is a French pioneer of the ebook market, created in 1999. Besides its own retail sites (www.numilog.com, www.ebookezvous.com) and reading applications in iOS and Android environment, Numilog offers publishers a global solution for distributing, selling and lending eBooks through the major international platforms, independent eBook stores and digital libraries.
Gregorio Pellegrino is an Italian computer engineer, Gregorio Pellegrino has a strong knowledge in the digital publishing field, new media with particular attention to accessibility for visually impaired people. He is a consultant in these areas for publishing companies (especially regarding formats, international standards and authoring platforms). He is the technical manager of Fondazione LIA where he coordinates consulting and training activities for national and international organizations who want to change their production processes in order to embrace accessibility. He is involved in international working-group devoted to accessibility of publications and standard formats.
Sebastian Posth created Posth – Digital Business Development, which offers consulting services, project management and product development for media companies, publishers, intermediaries, retailers, and institutions in the fields of digital publishing, digital content aggregation and distribution, social media and ebook retail marketing, data analytics and market research. He is the founder and managing director of data analytics company Publishing Data Networks and is developing Monitor, a tool for sales and marketing data analysis designed to support publishers and authors with their digital marketing and sales. Also, is the founder and business developer of the Content Blockchain Project, building tools and services for journalists, publishers, and media start-ups to create new innovative products, services and business models in an open blockchain economy.
José Manuel Anta is the Managing Director of FANDE www.fande.es and the International Publishing Distribution Association (IPDA) www.ipdaweb.org. Anta is graduate in Economics by the Universidad Complutense de Madrid, Master in Foreign Trade by CEOE and Postgraduate Course in Market Research at the Autonomous University of Madrid (1995).
Since 1997, performs the work of Managing Director of the Federation of National Associations of Distributors (FANDE), umbrella organization in Spain for about 200 companies engaged in the distribution of books, magazines, newspapers and digital contents.
