The debate explored ideas on sustainability and regulations (European regulation, policies and public financial support).<\/p>\n<p>The speakers were:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Piero Attanasio (Associazione Italiana Editori, Italy)<\/li>\n<li>Mo\u0301nica Ferna\u0301ndez (MECD, Spain)<\/li>\n<li>Linda Corugedo Steneberg (DG Connect, EU)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>This video registered the discussions about four main fields\u00a0:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>How the presence of new actors and new business models have affected the framework where the regulations are implemented.<\/li>\n<li>What are the main challenges for the updating of the regulatory system. Which are the main factors that have disrupted the market as we know it before.<\/li>\n<li>Which should be the support public policies in order to match with needs.<\/li>\n<li>Means of collaboration amongst public and private sectors.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<style type=\"text\/css\" data-created_by=\"avia_inline_auto\" id=\"style-css-av-av_hr-fbebcb4fe7f7f93a621d8b6783460008\">\n#top .hr.hr-invisible.av-av_hr-fbebcb4fe7f7f93a621d8b6783460008{\nheight:30px;\n}\n<\/style>\n<div  class='hr av-av_hr-fbebcb4fe7f7f93a621d8b6783460008 hr-invisible  avia-builder-el-7  el_before_av_hr  avia-builder-el-first '><span class='hr-inner '><span class=\"hr-inner-style\"><\/span><\/span><\/div>\n<p><strong>Piero Attanasio<\/strong> holds a degree in economics at the University of Bologna and has been working in book publishing since 1986. In 1995 he joined AIE (Italian Publishers Association) where he is currently director of international affairs and R&amp;D programmes and coordinates the activities of the academic publishing group. He is CEO of mEDRA (multilingual European DOI Registration Agency) and member of the Board of the Fondazione LIA, which provides services to enhance accessibility of ebooks for visually impaired people.<\/p>\n<p>He has been the scientific director of the ARROW projects (www.arrow-net.eu), the leading European initiative to facilitate right information management in digital library programmes. He is member of the Board of the Federation of European Publishers, of the Executive committee of the ISBN International Agency, where he served as chair since 2006 to 2012, of the Membership Committee of the International Publishers Association, and the advisory board of the P&amp;R Foundation. He was also board member of Editeur and of the International DOI Foundation and chaired the Standard and Technology Committee of the IPA.<\/p>\n<p>He is author of many articles and two monographs about book industry, in particular about the impact of technologies on book trade and rights management in digital environment. After a brief stint in the private sector, he joined, in 1997, the Cuerpo Superior de Administradores Civiles del Estado (the Senior civil servents en national administration). Later, he carried out the Leadership Program for Public Management of IESE in Madrid.<\/p>\n<p>He began his administrative career in 1998 in the General Subdirectorate of Historical Heritage of the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sports and, subsequently, worked in the Technical General Vice-Secretary of the Ministry of Public Administration. In 2001, she came back to the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sports and from 2004 to 2016 she was the Deputy Director General for the Promotion of Books, Reading and Spanish Literature. Born and raised in Stockholm, Sweden. Has mostly lived abroad since late twenties. Studies at the Stockholm School of Economics where she also chaired the Students Association during her last year. Joined the Swedish Foreign Service and served abroad in Bangkok, Brussels, Madrid and Geneva. Specialised in EU matters, politics of South East Asia and trade negotiations.<\/p>\n<p>Joined the Commission in 1996 and worked as Head of representation in Stockholm, Head of Unit for three different Units in DG COMM, Director of Resources in DG ECFIN.\u00a0 Joined\u00a0 DG CONNECT on\u00a0 1 April 2011 as Director for General Affairs and since the 01July 2012 as Director for Cooperation.
