This new session of Digital Publishing Summit 2020 offered an insider&#8217;s look at Thorium Reader, the reading app you should use on Windows 10, MacOS and Linux. This free application is in constant development and aims at becoming a reference for accessing EPUB 3, audiobooks and visual narratives (DiViNa). The presentation was introduced by Laurent Le Meur (EDRLab) and presented by Daniel Weck and Richard Orme.<\/p>\n<p>The Digital Publishing Summit is an event organized by EDRLab since 2016 and in this year of the Covid-19 merged with Readmagine in a first on-line edition.<\/p>\n<p>Daniel Weck is a software engineer who works with the DAISY Consortium, a global not-for-profit organisation whose aim is to ensure that persons with print disabilities (e.g. people who are blind, visually-impaired, dyslexic) have equal access to information and knowledge, without delay or additional expense.<\/p>\n<p>For the past decade, Daniel has developed open-source software in the fields of multimedia and electronic publishing (\u201ce-books\u201d), including validation utilities, authoring tools and reading systems.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Richard Orme is Chief Executive Officer at DAISY Consortium, a global partnership of organizations committed to create the best way to read and publish, for everybody.<\/p>\n<p>Orme is a board member of The Right to Read Alliance is a partnership of organisations working to improve access to information for people with print disabilities in the UK.
